How does LastCUE check track compatibility?

Choose the CDJ or XDJ model you expect to use. LastCUE compares each track’s format with that player’s profile. For WAV and FLAC files, it also checks sample rate and bit depth when those values are available.

Can LastCUE convert Device Library Plus or OneLibrary USBs?

No. LastCUE can preview and back up Device Library Plus, called OneLibrary in the app, but format conversion currently requires a legacy Device Library built around PIONEER/rekordbox/export.pdb.

Does compatibility conversion write to the selected USB?

Yes. Conversion requires the current Rekordbox USB found by Auto-detect. After explicit confirmation, LastCUE creates an automatic CUE Backup and writes the converted audio, ANLZ, and updated PIONEER data to that USB.

FLAC / WAV to MP3 for CDJ USBs

1. Open Device Compatibility Check

Open LastCUE and click the Tools icon.
Select Device compatibility check.
If a rekordbox USB is already selected on the Dashboard, LastCUE will use the same USB automatically.
If no USB is selected, click AUTO SCAN to detect one automatically, or use CHOOSE PATH to select the USB drive manually.

2. Choose the player

Select the CDJ or XDJ model you expect to use.
LastCUE will check the USB against that player’s compatibility profile.

3. Review the compatibility summary

Once a player is selected, LastCUE shows a compatibility summary for the USB.

Incompatible shows how many tracks may not play on the selected player.
Directly playable shows how many tracks can be used without conversion.
Database format shows the library type detected on the USB.
Format details shows the number of FLAC, WAV, MP3, and other files found.
Supported formats shows the audio formats supported by the selected player.

If incompatible tracks are found, click Format conversion to review them in detail.

4. Review the incompatible tracks

Click Format conversion to open the track list and see which files need attention.

Use Highlight incompatible to mark incompatible tracks in the list.
Turn on Only incompatible if you only want to see tracks that may not play on the selected player.
Browse by playlist or search for a specific track.
Select the tracks you want to convert.

Note: Format conversion currently supports Device Library (export.pdb) only. OneLibrary conversion support will be added later.

5. Back up and convert the selected tracks

Choose a conversion target for the selected tracks:

MP3 128 — 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz, CBR
MP3 320 — 320 kbps, 44.1 kHz, CBR
WAV — 16-bit, 44.1 kHz, PCM

When you are ready, click Back up and start conversion. LastCUE creates a CUE Backup first, then converts the selected tracks and writes the converted audio and updated library data directly to the USB.

Cue points and supported analysis data are carried over to the converted tracks, so you do not need to rebuild them manually.

6. Check the converted USB

When the conversion is complete, safely eject the USB and load it on the selected CDJ or XDJ.

Open a few converted tracks and make sure they play normally with the expected cue points and waveform data.

If everything looks right, you’re ready for the gig.
