Tools

Tools for preparing a rekordbox USB

Check what a player can read, convert audio it cannot play, tidy track text, and make Chinese, Japanese and Korean titles searchable on the player. Every change that writes to the USB is previewed first and backed up locally before it is applied.

Device compatibility check

Know what the player can read before the gig

Choose the CDJ or XDJ you plan to use. LastCUE checks the exported library and readable audio details against that player's supported formats and marks the tracks that need attention, with the reason.

  • Flags format, sample rate and bit depth issues per track
  • Works with Device Library and OneLibrary exports
  • A configuration check, not a hardware test: still load a few tracks on the player

CUE-safe format conversion

Convert incompatible audio without redoing your CUE points

Convert supported FLAC and WAV sources to MP3 128 kbps, MP3 320 kbps or 44.1 kHz 16-bit WAV. The new tracks reuse the existing analysis, so Hot CUEs, Memory CUEs, saved loops, beatgrid and waveform come with them.

  • Original audio and playlist membership are kept; converted entries are added next to them
  • A local library backup is created before anything is written
  • Missing analysis files cannot be recreated; the preview tells you first

Smart Cleanup

Clean track text without touching audio or CUE points

Smart Cleanup edits text fields in the exported library: title, artist, album, genre and comment. It does not delete music files, edit audio, or change CUE points, beatgrids, waveforms or playlists.

  • Remove URLs & EmailsRemove links and email addresses from the selected fields.
  • Remove Custom TextRemove text you specify from anywhere in the selected fields.
  • Clear CommentsClear the comments on selected tracks while keeping their titles.
  • Preview every change and edit suggestions before applying
  • Works on Device Library, OneLibrary or both
  • Audio file tags and your main rekordbox collection are not rewritten

Latin Alphabet Converter

Find Chinese, Japanese and Korean tracks with a Latin keyboard

Generate readings from titles and artists: pinyin and initials for Chinese, romaji for Japanese and Korean, and plain letters for accented Latin text. By default the readings are appended to the comment, so titles and artists stay as they are.

  • The player must search the field you write to; some players show comments but do not search them
  • You can append to the title instead, after checking the preview
  • A local Quick backup is created before writing, so the change can be restored

Before anything is written

  1. Preview firstSee every change before you apply it, and apply only the ones you select.
  2. Automatic local backupLastCUE backs up the library on your computer before it writes to the USB.
  3. Close rekordboxWriting waits until rekordbox is closed, so the export is not changed under it.
