Device Library and OneLibrary in rekordbox
Updated October 8, 2026
Device Library and OneLibrary are two USB export database formats used by rekordbox. They describe the tracks and playlists available to compatible players. OneLibrary was previously called Device Library Plus; AlphaTheta confirms that rekordbox exports under those two names are compatible. See AlphaTheta's OneLibrary overview for the naming and supported products.
What is different
| Library | Database used by LastCUE | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Device Library | PIONEER/rekordbox/export.pdb | The exported playlists and tracks in this library |
| OneLibrary or Device Library Plus | exportLibrary.db | The exported playlists and tracks in this library |
A USB can contain both libraries and music files. The presence of the audio files alone does not tell you which exported playlists a player can browse. Check the exact player model and firmware against the rekordbox USB Export information.
Why playlists can differ
The two libraries can contain different playlists or histories. rekordbox also notes that deleting an item from one library does not automatically delete it from the other. If the USB looks different on another player, compare both library views before treating the problem as corruption. These behaviours are covered in the rekordbox OneLibrary FAQ.
Connect the USB to your computer and expand it under Devices in rekordbox. Inspect Device Library and OneLibrary, or Device Library Plus if your version uses that name. Check the missing playlist in the relevant view, then confirm whether the original audio files are still present on the USB.
Converting a library needs a separate decision
rekordbox provides a Convert from Device Library command to create OneLibrary from an existing Device Library. If OneLibrary already exists, conversion can replace it and remove playlists or histories stored only there. Compare the contents and keep a backup before proceeding. Follow the current official OneLibrary instructions for your rekordbox version.
What LastCUE supports
| Function | Device Library | OneLibrary |
|---|---|---|
| Library preview | Supported | Supported |
| Local backup | Supported | Supported |
| Player compatibility check | Supported | Supported |
| Audio format conversion | Supported | Supported |
| Smart Cleanup | Supported | Supported |
| Latin Alphabet Converter | Supported with the required language data | Supported with the required language data |
| Corrupted library repair | Supported sources using export.pdb | Not currently supported |
Available functions depend on the LastCUE version, source data and plan. Repair is a separate operation from backup, conversion and cleanup. Being able to preview a OneLibrary database does not mean LastCUE can repair it.
Backup contents depend on the mode you choose. Quick saves library data; Analysis also saves supported referenced analysis data. Full saves the PIONEER and Contents folder trees, including music files inside those folders. Backups stay local, and Full is not a complete disk image.
Choose the next step
If the player cannot see a playlist, check the library format and both exported library views first. If rekordbox reports that the Device Library is corrupted, use the repair guide. If a track is listed but its audio format is unsupported, use the player compatibility guide.
