Does LastCUE upload my USB library or music files?
Updated October 9, 2026
LastCUE processes your USB library and audio on your computer and saves backups to a local folder you choose. Account services and limited usage records use the network. Support reports are sent only when you submit them; attaching the original export.pdb requires a separate opt-in.
Local processing and network access describe different parts of the app. Signing in, checking paid access, purchasing a product, or submitting a support request can contact LastCUE services without uploading your complete music library.
What stays local during normal use?
Backup capture, library inspection, compatibility checks, repair processing, format conversion, Smart Cleanup, and Latin Alphabet Converter operate on local source files. A backup is not automatically copied into a LastCUE cloud account.
You choose the backup location. If you place that folder inside a directory synchronized by another service, that service's own synchronization settings determine what it copies.
What information can be sent while I am signed in?
The desktop app records limited feature usage and outcomes for signed-in accounts. These records can include the feature used, app version, operating system, timing, status, technical error categories, and available counts. The app also sends periodic connection signals.
These usage records do not include music files, track or playlist names, local file paths, or the actual contents of cue points. Account, purchase, entitlement, and security information is handled separately to operate the service.
What happens if I submit a problem report?
A report you choose to submit can contain diagnostics, logs, operation details, app and device information, and your written message. Diagnostic files may contain local paths or library information, so they have a different scope from ordinary usage records.
The original export.pdb is attached only when you separately opt in inside the app. That database can contain track names, playlist names, cue information, and local paths. Review the report options and provide the files needed for the issue.
Does local processing mean the whole app works offline?
Some local operations can run without a current network connection. Pro features can use valid cached offline authorization where available, but that authorization has an expiry. Account sign-in, purchases, entitlement refresh, and repair-credit authorization or confirmation can require a connection.
Before a gig, open LastCUE while online and check the account and offline-access status shown in the app. A local backup remains a local file; reconnecting is about service access, not uploading the backup.
Where can I read the full privacy policy?
The Privacy Policy explains account records, usage information, support uploads, service providers, and retention. For the location and transfer of backups, see Where are LastCUE backups stored?.
