Do I need another Repair Credit after a USB write failure
Updated October 9, 2026
No additional Repair Credit is charged when you write the same saved, confirmed repair result to its original target again. A USB write failure does not necessarily mean database repair failed. Close rekordbox, open Repair tasks, choose View result for the completed task, and select Write to USB again.
Repairing the database and writing it are separate steps
LastCUE can generate and save a verified repaired database locally before it is applied to the USB. The local result may therefore be ready even if the final USB write fails.
rekordbox keeping the database open is one possible cause. The USB may also be disconnected, unavailable for writing, or different from the target used for the saved task. Read the write error before retrying.
Repair Credit confirmation relates to the accepted repair result. It does not mean the USB has already been updated. Reusing that confirmed result for another write does not run the database repair again.
How to write the saved result again
- Close rekordbox completely. Keep the intended USB connected and wait for its activity to stop.
- Open LastCUE and use the same account that created the repair task.
- Open Repair and click Repair tasks beside the page title.
- Find the completed task for this USB. Check its date and saved output location, then click View result.
- Click Write to USB again. Review the target and overwrite confirmation before proceeding.
- Keep the USB connected until LastCUE reports that the write has finished.
- Reopen the USB in rekordbox and check the playlists and tracks. Test a few tracks on the intended player before a performance.
Keep the saved repair output and its original location available. LastCUE checks the accepted files before reusing them. A missing or changed result cannot simply be treated as the original verified repair.
What if the target library has changed
rekordbox or another tool may have updated the USB database after the repair result was created. LastCUE can ask you to confirm the current target again before backing up and overwriting it.
Review which library you want to keep. Applying an older saved result can replace newer library changes. If the target is a different USB or the source has changed substantially, do not assume that the saved result belongs to it.
What if the task says credit confirmation pending
Reconnect to the internet and use the existing task to finish confirmation. The result may already be saved even though confirmation has not completed. Follow the task's status and action rather than starting another repair solely because the final confirmation was interrupted.
A repair that never produced an accepted result is a different case. Its task may require ending the interrupted attempt before a new repair can begin.
Does retrying copy or delete my music
The normal repair write replaces the repaired PIONEER/rekordbox/export.pdb. It does not copy, modify, or delete the audio files in Contents. A song that was missing before the write will still need its original audio or an earlier music backup.
If the library is still reported as corrupted after a completed write, keep the saved output and contact LastCUE support with the app version, exact message, and repair task details.
